Meet Our Senior Pastor
Rev. Dr. Jean-Paul Charles
Senior Pastor of Berean Evangelical Church
Rev. Dr. Charles born in Haiti serves as the Senior Pastor and founder of Berean Evangelical Church, a growing congregation. Under his visionary leadership, the church has made a lasting impact on the community through various outreach initiatives, including an 18-year-long radio ministry on Island FM 102.9, continuous evangelism efforts, and leadership development locally and internationally. Dr. Charles has preached and taught across 16 U.S. states, as well as in Canada, Haiti, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, St. Martin, Guadeloupe, Israel, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamian Family Islands.
Dr. Charles has held key leadership positions, including serving as the third Vice President of the Bethel Baptist Association, representing 29 Bahamian churches and the only Haitian church. Dr. Charles, founder and two-term president of the League of Haitian Pastors in the Bahamas from 2017 to 2024, represented over 118 pastors during his tenure. His leadership made a significant impact on the Haitian pastoral community. "Leadership that unites, faith that inspires."
Dr. Charles received his early education in Haiti, followed by post-graduate studies at Eastern Bible Institute in Irvington, New Jersey. He earned his Bachelor of Religious Education from Christian Outreach Bible Institute in North Carolina in 2007, a Doctor of Divinity in 2010, and a Doctor of Pedagogy in 2012, both from Agape Bible College in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Charles currently serves as an Ambassador and Chaplain of the United States of America under the Spanish American Chaplain Association of Florida. He is also the Caribbean Ambassador for the Protestant Churches in Haiti. Dr. Charles is happily married to Min. Carine Charles and blessed with two wonderful children.
Dr. Charles is a gifted and impactful communicator of God’s Word, known for his practical and engaging teaching and preaching style. Under his leadership, the members and followers of Berean Evangelical Church continue to experience the mighty works of God, as the church remains a place of miracles, healing, signs, and wonders.
Dr. Charles has been divinely appointed, equipped, and anointed for this significant season in his life, faithfully fulfilling the greatest assignment of his calling.

We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the inspired written word of God, which is our foundation.

We strive to be compassionate in our love, excellent in our service, holy in our living, and passionate and reverent in our worship. God requires a relationship with us; and we desire relationships with others. God never intend for us to do life alone.
